We focus on the growing crisis of loneliness among children and adolescents, intensified by digital environments
Unwanted loneliness is a silent but growing problem affecting more and more people around the world.
For years, it has been mainly associated with older people living alone, but the reality is that an increasing number of children and young people are experiencing its effects every day, creating a new challenge for our present and future: 1 in 5 adolescents worldwide reports feeling lonely.
In this context, Exea Impact launched the initiative «Loneliness in Childhood and Adolescence in Times of Hyperconnectivity», a framework that coordinates evidence-based interventions guided by an expert committee.
The initiative is implemented through projects developed in collaboration with strategic partners: the SOREDI Chair (Socially Responsible Digital Innovation) at ESADE, the Adolescence Free of Phones movement, and the 5Rights Foundation.
We aim to create a safe digital environment that promotes healthy development, well-being, and genuine connections for children and adolescents, helping to prevent loneliness. We recognize the importance of today’s context and believe it is essential to collaborate in building a world that respects identity, personal integrity, ethical values, and our shared humanity.
Our goal is to drive solutions that strengthen cities’ resilience to climate change
Climate change is already having visible and growing effects. Heatwaves, droughts, wildfires, torrential rains, and floods are directly impacting health, economies, and communities.
These events affect people unequally, hitting the most vulnerable hardest. Urban planning, housing quality, and socioeconomic factors, among others, can significantly amplify their consequences.
Faced with this reality, it is crucial to act where the risks are greatest. Cities are among the most exposed and vulnerable spaces, and urban resilience offers a strategy for prevention, adaptation, and recovery to face climate impacts.
In this context, Exea Impact is driving this new urban resilience initiative to address climate change, promoting and piloting innovative solutions that help mitigate its effects on the most vulnerable populations and prepare cities to be more resilient.
The focus areas and programs we plan to develop are currently being researched and defined.
